I’m Still Here

These days, we’re all wondering if we’ll be replaced by technology. Some organizations are using AI to write, instead of hiring writers. Does this mean writers will be out of jobs in the future?
Yet, the vacuum still hasn’t replaced the broom. I own both a vacuum and a broom. I also have a computer and a smartphone, and I still read paper books.

For sure, technology has replaced what used to be a regular part of people’s lives in the past. The average person will travel by car or public transit instead of by horse to get where they want to go. The average person will use electric lighting instead of candles to brighten their room at night.

However, some things are still here to stay, co-existing in a modern world. What do you think?

The technological aspect of applying yourself does not really depend on something like a GPS or sonar… You just have to use your analytical skills to make sure you get ahead of your peers.

This is a topic that’s on many people’s minds these days. The rise of AI certainly raises questions about the future of various professions, including writing. However, I share your perspective that technology doesn’t always lead to complete replacement but often to coexistence and adaptation.

Just like you, I still find value in traditional tools and mediums. Despite having a smartphone and computer, I love the feel of a paper book in my hands. The vacuum hasn’t made the broom obsolete in my home either; each has its own purpose.

I believe that while AI can assist with certain tasks, it can’t replicate the human creativity, emotion, and critical thinking that writers bring to their work. Instead of viewing technology as a threat, perhaps we can see it as a tool that can enhance our capabilities.

As people continue to rely on AI and technology certain jobs will be replaced by robots or AI. I hope in the future that we will be able to use this technology in order to help the well-being of people. If AI does takes over writers job, in how much time do you believe it will take.

I think AI can be used to improve the quality of life for people. As for AI taking over writers’ jobs, it is already happening. The writers who will still find work are the writers with above average writing skills and have higher paying clients who appreciate quality.

People will always be necessary for labor, I don’t think we will ever be replaced by AI. Yet, some jobs could be lost, that’s true.

Although, I agree that a large part of writing has been outsourced to AI, there’s a lot that is still being done and will only be done by the humans. I am working on a project that trains AI and I think it can maybe replace google but to replace humans is still too farfetched. This is my personal view!

I would agree with your view! I’m also working on projects that involve training AI. If AI were to replace humans, the company I work for would disappear! Thanks for your comments!

the scary thing though is that technology is changing so much of our lives, and quicker then can be apprecited or that gives us humans time to adapt. there are worker strikes taking place here on our coasts, not over money or time off or extra hours but over automation taking over peoples jobs….which is I think inevitable….but, society haven’t had time to figure out what’s going to take the place of work? With AI I think this is going to be an ongoing challenge….would people be paid for not working?

I think AI is going to change the type of work that we do. Already, I’m encouraged to use AI at work to do my job. So the best way to keep ahead of AI is to have skills that AI can’t easily replace. Thanks for commenting!

I like my candles at night! But not when I’m working on my computer – not quite bright enough. I usually light candles when I’m done work! Thanks for the suggestion!
